Well, for…well, someone older than me and very much in love with someone else and …I know very well that she´s not interested in me. But she’s always been very kind to me and I like her a lot so I thought that maybe it wouldn’t matter if I told her so. But then I didn´t dare because she is the mum of a friend of mine and maybe he wouldn´t understand.

Pues para…pues para alguien mayor que yo y muy enamorada de otra persona y…sé perfectamente que no la intereso. Pero siempre ha sido amable conmigo y a mí me gusta muchísimo así que pensé que no pasaría nada porque se lo dijese. Pero luego no me he atrevido porque además es la mamá de un amigo mío y a lo mejor él no lo entiende.

You really mean that? You’ve noticed how wonderful she is? Since everyone is always insulting her and calling her a witch, I thought I was the only one who had noticed how kind she can be.

¿En serio? ¿Os habéis dado cuenta todos de lo maravillosa que es? Como todo el mundo la pone verde y la llama bruja, yo pensaba que era el único que se había dado cuenta de lo amable que puede ser.

She is the only person who reads my poems whole and who puts them on her fridge and makes comments about them, which is how I know she really reads them. And whenever she bakes a cake, she always keeps the piece that is decorated the prettiest for me, which is no mean feat, knowing how fast Alpin gobbles everything up.

Es la única persona que lee mis poesías enteras y las pone en su frigorífico y me hace comentarios sobre las mismas, por eso sé que las lee de verdad. Y siempre que hace una tarta, reserva el pedazo mejor decorado para mí, lo cual tiene merito con lo rápido que es Alpin zampándose todo.
