It's an early summer night and we are sure to dream of the sea. For the little ones, here's both a bedtime story and a lullaby, all in one. You have the lyrics below, in English, and also a Spanish translation.   

Es una noche de principios de verano y seguro que vamos a soñar con el mar. Para los pequeños, aquí tenemos un cuento para antes de dormir y una canción de cuna, todo en una. La letra la tenéis más abajo, en inglés, y también una traducción de ésta al español. 

Far away, in a South Sea isle, lived a very pretty girl with a very pretty smile, and her name was Ukelele.

Muy lejos, en una isla de los mares del sur, vivía una niña muy guapa con una sonrisa preciosa, y se llamaba Ukelele.

Ukelele and her mother and her daddy and her brother were as happy as they could be, in a little grass house with a little grass roof by the side of the beautiful sea.

Ukelele y su madre y su papá y su hermano estaban tan contentos como se puede estar, en una casita de hierba con un tejadito de hierba junto al hermoso mar.

And that little Ukelele had a little wooden dolly and she took her on the sand to play, with a rub-a-dub-dub in a pink shell tub she scrubbed her every day.

Y la pequeña Ukelele tenía una muñequita de madera que llevaba a la arena a jugar y frotando la bañaba a diario en una concha rosa que hacía de bañera.

She fed her cookies that were made of sand. The little wooden dolly thought that they were grand.

La alimentaba con galletas hechas de arena. A la muñequita de madera le parecían exquisitas.

What a lovely way for the day to pass, all around the house that was made of grass!

¡Qué manera más estupenda de pasar el día alrededor de la casita hecha con hierba!

And when nightime came and supper was over, Ukelele took her little wooden dolly to bed with her and sang this little song:

Y cuando llegaba la noche, despues de cenar, Ukelele se llevaba su muñequita a la cama con ella y cantaba esta cancioncilla:

When the stars come out at night, go to sleep my darling. Ukelele holds you tight, go to sleep my darling.

Cuando las estrellas salen por la noche, duerme, mi pequeña. Ukelele te abraza fuerte, duerme mi pequeña.

Ukelele and her mother and her daddy and her brother, they were sitting on the sand one day, when a beautiful ship coming home from a trip sailed into the beautiful bay.

Ukelele y su madre y su padre y su hermano, estaban sentados en la arena un día cuando un barco precioso que volvía de un viaje navegando entró en la preciosa bahía.

Ukelele, Ukelele, I have brought you back a present. It's a beautiful brand new doll! See, her eyes are blue and her hair is real too and she's dressed for a fancy dress ball.

Ukelele, Ukelele, te he traído un regalo. ¡Es una preciosa muñeca nueva! Mira, sus ojos son azules y su pelo es real y está vestida para asistir a un gran baile.

But don't feed her cookies that are made of sand. Those sandy cookies are a mess. And don't give her a scrub in your pink shell tub, that's likely to ruin her dress.

Pero no le des galletas hechas de arena. Esas galletas arenosas ensucian mucho. Y no la bañes en tu bañera de concha rosa. Eso estropearía su vestido.

Oh, thank you, Mr. Captain! You´re a very lovely captain. It was nice of you to think of me. And I thank you for the doll, I will hang her on the wall for everyone to see.

¡Oh, gracias, Sr. Capitán! Es usted un capitán maravilloso. Fue muy amable por su parte pensar en mí. Y le doy las gracias por la muñeca, la colgaré de la pared para que todos la puedan ver.

And when nightime came, which doll do you think Ukulele took to bed with her? Why, of course, her own dear little wooden dolly and she sang:

Y cuando llegó la noche, ¿Cuál de las dos muñecas crees que se llevó con ella a la cama Ukelele? Pues claro que sí. Su querida muñequita de madera de siempre. Y cantó:
