Nos han enseñado que los adjetivos que terminan en -ed se refieren a lo que el sujeto de una oración siente o experimenta, mientras que los que terminan en -ing describen el efecto que produce el sustantivo modificado por el adjetivo. Pero yo lo veo más sencillo. Para mí, los adjetivos que acaban en -ing van con el verbo ser. Los que acaban en -ed van con el verbo estar. Pero como el verbo ser y el verbo estar son el mismo verbo en inglés, el verbo be, los estudiantes se suelen hacer un lio con los adjetivos que acaban en -ing y en -ed. Pero yo no. Y es porque yo tengo muy buena opinión de mí mismo y se que soy un tío interesante. I am interesting. Yes, I am an interesting guy. Yo soy interesante. Sí, soy un tío interesante. Y si consigo acordarme de lo interesante que soy, ya recuerdo que -ing va con ser, y por lo tanto -ed tiene que ir con estar. Sí, señores, aprender tiene que ver con la autoestima, que en inglés se dice self-esteem.
