The Petal Fling / La danza de los pétalos

Every year, early in May, the flowering trees of Minced Forest celebrate an ancient ritual. It is called the Petal Fling, for these trees shake their branches to the rhythm of little white drums played by the local poison mushroom dwarfs. Magical people come from far and near to enjoy the spectacle and to gather fresh petals that they will later use in their spells or their kitchen. Those who dance under the flower shower will be lucky in love for a year if they wish to be. But it never rains to everyone’s liking.

Todos los años, a principios de mayo, los árboles en flor del Bosque Triturado celebran un antiguo ritual. Se llama la danza de los pétalos, pues estos árboles sacuden sus ramas al son de pequeños tambores blancos que tocan los enanos de las hongos venenosos. Gentes mágicas acuden de muchas partes a disfrutar del espectáculo y a recoger pétalos recién desprendidos que luego utilizan para sus sortilegios o en la cocina. Quienes bailan bajo la lluvia de flores tendrán suerte en el amor durante todo un año si la desean. Pero nunca llueve a gusto de todos.

Entonces probablemente se mudará por el calentamiento global. Somos unos profesionales como la copa de un pino. Le hemos dicho a usted, Sr. Binky, una verdad como un templo. Los astros no son propicios. Y le diríamos lo mismo mañana, porque seguirá siendo así.
