Hoy ofrecemos una lectura para un nivel avanzado. Se trata del conjuro de la queimada.
The queimada is a traditional drink typical of Galicia, where the scenery is lovely but the weather is rather damp. Made in a pot with aguardiente, which is a liquor called burning water and similar to schnapps, with sugar, and lemon and / or orange rind, the concotion is set on spectacular fire. Grains of coffee and slices of apples may be added to the brew, which is served hot, sometimes with the flames still flaming in the drinking cups. This drink is supposed to cleanse the drinker, freeing him or her from any spells he or she may be under. To obtain this result, one must recite the incantation of the queimada while the flames are retreating.
La queimada es una bebida tradicional, típica de Galicia, donde las vistas son preciosas pero el clima algo húmedo. Hecha en un pote con aguardiente, azúcar, y ralladura de limón y /o de naranja, al brebaje se le prende espectacular fuego. Se pueden añadir granos de café o trocitos de manzana, y a veces se sirve en las copas cuando todavía está en llamas.
