It´s useless. I´ll never learn to pronounce English properly. Understand, I already understand practically everything. And I can read perfectly. But not out loud. For example, have a look at this rhyme.

Es inútil. Nunca aprenderé a pronunciar bien el inglés. Entender, entiendo ya casi todo y lo puedo leer perfectamente. Pero no en voz alta. Por ejemplo, fijáos en esta rima



"Beware of bird,
that dreadful word,
that looks like beard
but rhymes with heard."

"Guárdate de pájaro,
temible palabra,
que se parece a barba
y rima con oí."

Bird se pronuncia algo asi como berd.
Word algo asi como werd.
Beard algo asi como bird.
Y heard parecido a jerd.

They say English vowels are lovely. Well, they´re giving me a headache worse than Darcy´s.

Dicen que las vocales inglesas son preciosas. Pues a mi me están levantando un dolor de cabeza que ni los de Darcy.

Don´t worry. I have a similar problem with Spanish accents. The stress mark drives me nuts.

No se preocupe. A mi me pasa algo parecido con los acentos. La tilde me pone de los nervios.

I remember a rhyme in Spanish that goes:




"In Roman times
there were barbarians
that climbed trees
and ate birds."

Recuerdo unos versos en español que dicen:

"En tiempos de los rómanos
Había unos barbaros
Que se subían a los arboles
Y se comían a los pajaros."

I´m not sure I even copied that right in Spanish.

Ni siquiera estoy seguro de que haya copiado eso bien en español. Tengo que revisarlo todo.

Well, it´s not my fault this problem still exists. I left money in my will so they would create a new phonetic alphabet for the English language.

Pues no es culpa mía que este problema siga existiendo. Dejé en mi testamento dinero para que creasen un nuevo alfabeto fonético para el idioma inglés.
