Toy Weapons / Juguetes Bélicos

Leafy

Frankie, get the gun. The wolf may wear sheeps´s clothing but his teeth will out.

Mungo Binky

No. I´m not coming after you today. I´ve got other things on my mind right now. Where did you get the gun? Don´t tell me it is a human article bought at Magpie´s sale. Things are getting worse much faster than I thought they would.

Fergus

Top of the morning to you, Binky. New image, eh?

Nueva imagen ¿eh?

Mungo Binky

I got made over by Lukinotakis. At least he allowed me to keep my necktie. And you, Fergus? New hat?

Fergus? ¿Gorra nueva?

Fergus

I´ve been to a gathering of friends of the Republic of Leprechauns. By the way, if you are still interested in finding a chap to run a school to teach the Sidhe to understand humans, there´s a fellow here with me who´s written a classic on education.

Rousseau

Why do you want to educate these people? They´re exactly the way I would make humans be if I could. Noble savages.

Buenos salvajes.

Leafy

Frenchy just said he likes us the way we are?

Frankie

With our shotgun and all, I think.

Creo que con escopeta y todo.

Binky

I can´t educate humans. We left that for impossible ages ago. So I´m trying to see what I can do to influence the Fay.

Leafy

Now that I think of it, isn´t this bloke the Swiss blighter who educated a kid named Émile with cannon blasts up in the Alps provoking an avalanche that almost buried cousin Willy alive? And they say Switzerland is a quiet country.

Frankie

There´s no place quiet if there´s humans in it.

No hay lugar tranquilo si hay humanos allí.

Rousseau

The idea was to let people get used to things in small doses. First, so that Émile wouldn´t be afraid of cannons, I fired a tiny toy cannon. Then another, a little bigger and so on until I fired a huge cannon used in real warfare.

Mungo Binky

I don´t think the ladies who have tea with Titania will approve of toy weapons.

Rousseau

Ladies should be brought up to do what their husbands tell them to.

Titania

Among us, nobody tells anybody what to do. We all do as we please, because I say so, and that´s what I´m queen for.

Leafies

Long live the Queen! Everybody must do as he or she pleases! Except the French bloke! He goes back to Switzerland wether he wants to or not!

Frankie

¡Come on, Binky, declare him an unwelcome alien! Go yodel to your mother!

¡Venga, Binky! ¡Dale el pasaporte! ¡Vete a cantarle el yodelí a tu madre!

Leafies

Yo del lee del lee lee hoo del lee lee hoo hoo hoooooooooo! Hey! This is fun! How about if he teaches us how to dance the polka?

¡Yo del li del li li ju del li li ju ju juuuuuuuuuu! ¡Eh!

Binky

It is evident that this gentleman is riot prone. He won´t do for us. But I must say the idea of starting to learn little things and moving on to greater ones is not entirely wrong.

Fergus

Hmmm.
Hmmm.

Leafy

Binky always does everything wrong. Now that we were getting to like the guy, he goes and kicks the alien out of our territory. What if we return the shotgun? It´s kind of heavy to lug around and our thing is psychological warfare anyhow.

Magpie´s Garage Sale III - At the Sale / El rastrillo de Uracca III - En el rastrillo

Annual Garage Sale
New Mortal Products and Second Hand Magic Products

Rastrillo Annual
Venta de Productos Mortales de Primera Mano y Mágicos de Segunda.

Arrrrrrgggghhhhhhh!

Moth

Oi! What was that?

¡Huy! ¿Qué ha sido eso?

Alpin

It´s Mrs. Parry! She´s seen the cars.

¡Es la Sra. Parry! Ha visto los coches.

Michael

Mrs. Parry, are you alright?

Sra. Parry, ¿está usted bien?

Mrs. Parry

No! No, I´m not! When they said there was a sale, nobody told me it was in a garage!

¡No!

Moth

Oh, Mrs. Parry, you needn´t worry. Those automobiles won´t move. They´re not on sale. Magpie just parked her own cars outside her garage to have more room for the sale inside.

¡Oh, Sra.

Michael

Did you come on your own, Mrs. Parry? Would you like to join us?

¿Ha venido sola, Sra. Parry? ¿La gustaría unirse a nosotros?

Alpin

Sure! We´ll protect you from the vicious cars. Magpie should have a sign out here saying "Caveat cars!" By the way, there´s something I don´t understand. If those cars belong to Magpie, why is one of them a police car?

¡Venga!

Michael

If that´s a police car, the police get to answer that question.

Alpin

Which police do I have to ask for an answer from? The anti-corruption squad?

Michael

Alpin, that´s a human car and the police are also human. We´re not going to mess with the mortal police on this blog. It´s not kind to criticize those who have a tough job and few friends unless it´s absolutely necessary. Let´s see what we have here. Hmm. A sandclock, a grandfather clock, a pocket watch, wall clocks, old and new phones...

Magpie

Moth! How sweet! You´re wearing your everyday butterflies. How clever to come to markets dressed as if you were poor. The salespeople might try to take advantage of you if they think you are rich.

¡Polilla!

Moth

You´re not wearing the bling you usually do either, are you?

Magpie

Mrs. Parry, check out all this make-up. You´ll look so much better if you cover your face with it.
Old insomniacs always do.

Sra.

I´ve also got loads of woolen knits. Buy early. Winter won´t take that long to return. But what am I saying? It´s always winter for you now. There´s woolen stuff for your great, great, great, great, great grandchildren too.

También tengo montones de prendas de punto. Compre temprano.

Magpie

Moth, what is your boyfriend going to buy for you? If he´s a big spender, there´s a lovely emerald that used to be in the power of the Wizard of Oz. And your boyfriend can buy you a wedding ring if he is serious. It goes with a free red rose.

Polilla, ¿qué te va a comprar tu novio?

Moth

I´ve heard you´re selling a batch of shoes. Where are they?

Magpie

Here. I have them in all sizes. With matching handbags.

Aquí. Los tengo en todos los tallas. Con bolsos de mano a juego.

Moth

Hmm. What about men´s shoes?

Hmm. ¿Y qué hay de zapatos de hombre?

Magpie

It´s you that´s buying for your boyfriend, huh? I know exactly what he will like. He´ll look sharp at the Kansas state fair in these.

Michael

I´m not from Kansas but -

No soy de Kansas, pero -

Magpie

Nor am I. But I´m sure you don´t miss a state fair.

Michael

I do love homemade pies and pickles and country music a lot, but I´m sorry for the animals and-

Magpie

Hey, anybody who may know! Are there any hick CDs left? No? So sorry! They sell like hotcakes here.Well, I´m sure you need another guitar.

¡Eh, cualquiera que lo sepa! ¿Quedan CDs de paletos? ¿No? ¡Qué pena! Se venden como rosquillas aquí. Vaya, pues seguro que necesitas otra guitarra.

Alpin

Compra el harpa.

Buy the harp.

Mrs. Parry

No, I´ll buy the harp for my dragon.

Magpie

There are lots of things you can do to while away the hours now that you are retired. Granny Parry, aside from spoiling dragons. There´s painting if your hands still don´t tremble too much.

How about some umbrellas in case you still feel like dancing in the rain? You can´t do that without protecting your bones from humidity anymore.

Better just get wet in the bathtub, Mrs. Parry. Just be careful not to slip.

Mejor mojarse sólo en una bañera, Sra. Parry.

No? How about pins for your wig?

No? ¿Y horquillas para su peluca?

Michael

Have you got any men´s shoes aside from those boots?

Magpie

The kind that would fly you home to Kansas? Maybe next year. But not this.

A game of chess? Or is that too sophisticated for you?

You prefer a portable record player so you can take Martina or Chely with you when you´re out working in the cornfields?

Or seeds to plant in your farm? You ought to grow some ground high vegetables in case a twistern does in your high as an elephant´s eye corn crop this August, you know, or blows away your barn in September.

Of course you don´t need a goldfish bowl or a stylish birdcage. Pity I haven´t got chicken coops.

Alpin

Hey, Magpie! You can´t buy or sell animals. They are free agents among us. Even if you´ve swiped them from humans.

¡Eh, Uracca!

Michael

I´ll have the fishbowl and the birdcage and the birdhouse if the fish and the birds want to go on living in them and choose to come with me. Glorvina´s birthday is coming up. And I might as well take the seeds and the flower pots with plants. The bench too. I haven´t got one. As for the gardening tools...is this a lot? I´ll take the lot. And I´ll buy these old books too.

Moth

I´ll buy the briefcase for Glorvina and some books too. And these tools to do carpentry with.

Alpin

What about me? I´ve never seen so many things together that I would rather not have, but I´m sure not leaving emptyhanded.

Michael

This is what I´m going to buy for you, Alpin. And that´s it.

Alpin

I don´t want those caps! They haven´t got my logo on them!

¡No quiero esas gorras! ¡No llevan mi logo!

Magpie

Moth can embroider your logo on them when you get home. If she´s going to be a farmer´s wife, she´ll have to learn how to do needlework. But...but...but...but I know what you want! I know exactly what kids your age want. Furniture for your house!

Alpin

Me? My mum acquires the furniture for our house.

¿Yo?

Magpie

No. For your house. You should decorate your own granite stone house yourself.

No. Para tu casa. Deberías decorar tu propia casa de granito tú mismo.

Alpin

I have a house? I have a granite stone house?

¿Tengo una casa? ¿Tengo una casa de granito?

Magpie

Look at this darling sofa! And...at this wicked TV set!

¡Mira este sofá divino! ¡Y ... esta tele de lujuria!

Mrs. Parry

Magpie, you´ve gone too far! What you´ve just done with this child is unforgiveable! I´m going to do something about this!

Uracca, ¡te has pasado!

Uracca

What are you going to do? ¿Quit buying my stuff?

¿Y qué va a hacer? ¿Dejar de comprar mis cosas?

Mrs. Parry

No! That never! But I´m going to call you a shameless hussy to your face! And to everyone else´s!

¡No!

(this won´t be the end of this /aquí no acaba esto)
