Make or do and a bit about take / Cuando usar make o do y take
Don Quijote
I´m going to make believe I´m a mediaeval knight who does all sorts of good deeds.
Sancho Panza
I suggest you make sandwiches instead. You could also make us some hot chocolate. You'd be doing us both a favour. I'm sure to be hungry after doing the make and do test below.
MAKE
Para comidas y alimentos y bebidas: make a meal-preparar una comida, make breakfast- preparar el desayuno, make lunch - preparar el almuerzo, make dinner - preparar la cena, make food - hacer comida, make a pizza - hacer una pizza, make cookies - hacer galletas, make a drink - preparar una bebida, make coffee - hacer café, make a martini - hacer un martini, make wine - fabricar vino.
Expresiones comunes: make progress - progreso, make trouble - crear problemas, hacer progreso, make amends - compensar, make believe - fingir, imaginarse, hacer como que, make a comment - hacer un comentario, make a decision, make a difference, make an excuse - inventarse una excusa, make a fortune - hacer una fortuna, make a fuss - montar un cirio, make love - hacer el amor, make noise - hacer ruido, make a mess - liar, ensuciar, make money - hacer dinero, make a payment - hacer un pago, make a phone call - hacer una llamada telefónica, make a point - dejar algo claro, demostrar algo, make a promise -hacer una promesa, make a suggestion - hacer una sugerencia, make a visit - hacer una visita, make a deal - hacer un trato, make the beds - hacer las camas, make arrangements - hacer planes, make a choice - elegir, make a remark - hacer un comentario, make an effort - hacer un esfuerzo, make an enquiry - averiguar, make a fool of yourself - hacer el ridículo, make friends - hacer amigos, make love - hacer el amor, make a journey - hacer un viaje, make music - hacer música, make a sound - hacer un sonido, make noise - hacer ruido, make a noise - llamar la atención, sobre todo por sobresalir, make a mistake - cometer un error, make a profit - ganr dinero, hacer ganancias, make a complaint - hacer una queja, quejarse, make plans - hacer planes, make a speech - hacer un discurso, make time - hacer tiempo, make a reservation - hacer una reserva, make someone angry - enfurecer a alguien, make a living - ganarse la vida.
DO:
Para ideas generales: do something - hacer algo, do nothing - no hacer nada, do anything - hacer cualquier cosa
Expresiones comunes: do badly - irte mal, estar haciendo las cosas mal, do well - prosperar, estar haciendo las cosas bien, irte bien, do your best - hacer las cosas lo mejor que puedas, do your worst - hacer las cosas lo peor que puedas, do good - hacer el bien, do evil - hacer el mal, do harm - hacer daño,

Ojo: What do you do for a living? ¿Cómo te ganas la vida?
I make a living selling antiques. Me gano la vida vendiendo antigüedades.
Take en vez: Hay expresiones en las que no debes usar ni make ni do, sino take.
Dí take a photo, no make a photo para tomar una foto.
Di take a trip y no make a trip para hacer un viaje.
Recuerda que cuando uses los verbos make and do, tienes que ponerlos en el tiempo verbal requerido por el contexto.

Baby's First Outing / El primer paseo de la pequeña
Arley
Baby sister, you´ve been locked up in the nursery for too long. The countryside is looking really beautiful. Would you like to have breakfast in the country with me?
Baby
Yay!
¡Tiiii!
Arley
You have to promise to behave, eh? I don't want to get us into trouble. Shall I take you in your pram? No? Well, if you want us to go flying, I´ll have to tie your wrist to mine with a ribbon. We´ll be like Siamese twins. Is that fine with you?
¿No?
Arley
Whoa! Not so fast! We're in no hurry. Wow! I can barely follow you! Oh-oh. I hope you aren't very hungry. I think we may have to share our breakfast. More like go without.
¡Sooo! ¡No tan rápido! No tenemos prisa. ¡Jo!¡Si casi no te puedo seguir! ¡Uy, uy! Espero que no tengas mucha hambre. Me parece que tendremos que compartir nuestro desayuno. Más bien pasar sin.
Alpin
Hey, Arley! Is that your new sister, the one rumored to be autistic? Come down and introduce her to me. I've never met anyone like that before.
¡Eh, Arley!
