 In the village of Kilgory there is a haunted cottage. If you know how to listen, you will hear music and voices.  

En el pueblo de Kilgory hay una casita encantada. Si sabes escuchar, oirás música y voces. 

 

In the village of Kilgory, there was a maiden young and fair, / En la villa de Kilgory vivía una doncella joven y hermosa,

Her eyes they shone like diamonds, she had long and golden hair, / Sus ojos brillaban como diamantes, tenía una larga melena de oro.

And  a countryman came courting, he came up to her father´s gate, / Y un hombre vino del campo a cortejarla, cabalgando hasta la puerta de su padre,

Riding on a milk white stallion, he came at the stroke of eight./ Montado sobre un caballo blanco como la leche, llegó justo al dar el reloj las ocho.

Step it out, Mary, if you can, / Pisa con todo el garbo que puedas,

I have come to wed your daughter, Mary of the golden hair, / He venido a casarme con su hija, María, la del pelo dorado,

I have gold and I have silver, I have wealth beyond compare / Tengo oro y tengo plata, soy más rico que cualquiera..

I will buy her silks and satins and a gold ring for her hand, /La compraré sedas y satenes y una sortija de oro para el dedo.

I will build for her a mansion, she´ll have servants to command / La construiré una mansión y tendrá criados a los  que podrá mandar..

Mary´s father spoke up sharply, “You will do as you are told, / El padre de María recriminó a su hija, "¡Harás lo que yo te mande!"

You´ll be married on this Sunday and you´ll wear the ring of gold.” / "Te casarás este domingo y llevarás la sortija de oro."

In the village of Kilgory, there´s a deep stream running by / En la villa de Kilgory corre un arroyo muy profundo,

They found Mary there at midnight, she´d drowned with her soldier boy. / Allí encontraron a María a medianoche, se había ahogado con su soldadito.

In the cottage there is music, you can hear the father say, / En la casita se oye música y puedes escuchar a su padre decir, 
"Step it out, Mary, my fine daughter, Sunday is your wedding day." / "Pisa con garbo, María, mi hija hermosa, el domingo es el día de tu boda."
