Piscis / Piscis

Hi. It´s time for the next sign of the zodiac, Piscis. We´re the brothers Aphros and Bythos, the Ikhthyocentaurs. We´ve got the legs of a horse because we´re centaurs. And we´ve got fish tails because we´re sea centaurs. We´re Venus Aphrodite´s servants. We´ve served her since the day she was born and we helped her rise out of the ocean and step out of her shell. There´s a picture of Venus Aphrodite in her shell in Nauta´s Mini Mythology V.

Hola. Servimos a Venus Afrodita.

Why are we remembered up in the sky? Well, because of another favor we did Venus-Aphrodite and her son Eros-Cupid. One fine day, while they were swimming placidly, they were attacked by Typhon. a huge storm giant whose head reached the stars and who had snakes for legs. You can see what he looked more or less like below.

When we saw Aphrodite was in danger, we immediately came to the rescue. We each got hold of one of the gods of love and, with our tails linked so we wouldn´t go on separate ways when we sped through the deepest, darkest waters, we carried Venus and Cupid to safety.

Sometimes we take the shape of two big fish. The ancient Syrians didn´t eat fish because they were so grateful to us for saving the goddess of beauty and love and her son.

Remember - take precautions when you swim in deep water, just like we did. Below is a picture of our constellation, Piscis Austrinus. Its brightest star is Fomalhaut.
