And in the basement of the posh restaurant the moles Rupert and Swithin are learning everything about people who think the world should belong to only one of them.

Y en el sótano del lujosísimo restaurante los topos Ruperto y Suituno están averiguando todo lo que se cuece entre gente que cree que el mundo debería ser de sólo uno de ellos.

There is a gang of kids at Titania´s table that is making me deaf. I don´t know why people bring kids to restaurants like this one. They don´t know how to behave. I´ll bet they are breaking and soiling everything and sorely trying the patience of the other diners. I can´t take any more of this. I´m going to spy on someone else.

En la mesa de Titania hay una panda de niños que me está dejando sordo. No sé por qué traen niños a un restaurante como este. No saben comportarse. Apuesto a que están rompiendo y manchando todo y acabando con la paciencia de los demás comensales. Esto no hay quien lo aguante. Voy a espiar a otros.

Yo estoy con la mesa tres. Es la de Adamina. Menuda depresión tiene la pobrecita.

Supposedly, I have to fix with my invisible hand all the small mistakes and setbacks that moderate people make and suffer when they trade freely so that we can all benefit from this. But I am not dealing with moderate people. What abounds are fools, egotists and cads. This is getting to be too much for me.

No es fácil ser el hada del mercado libre. Nunca lo ha sido. Pero ahora mismo está imposible. Se supone que con mi mano invisible tengo que paliar los pequeños errores y contratiempos que sufren las personas moderadas que se dedican a comerciar libremente para que salgamos beneficiados todos. Pero es que no estoy tratando con personas moderadas. Lo que abunda son los tontos, los egoístas y los sinvergüenzas. Esto esta siendo demasiado para mí.

Table two is conspiring against Neptune, the planet. Table four wants to melt down the Holy Grail to prepare a potion or make a necklace for somebody´s lady friend, I´m not sure which. And at table 5 we have Prime Minister Binky with what appears to be a know-it-all child. Is it that he is divorced and it is his turn to walk his son?

En la mesa dos están conspirando contra Neptuno, el planeta. En la cuatro quieren fundir el Santo Grial para preparar no se qué pócima o hacerle un collar a la amiga de alguien, no estoy seguro. Y en la cinco está el primer ministro Binky con lo que parece ser un niño repipi. ¿Es que está divorciado y le toca sacar a pasear al niño?

Swithin / Suituno

That is not Binky´s son. That is the famous wizard Merlin, who lives backwards in time and is younger every day. Binky went all the way to the South Pole to find him. That was when he crashed into the birthday cake of the English teacher whose holidays always go wrong.

Ese no es hijo de Binky. Ese es el prestigioso mago Merlín, que vive para atrás en el tiempo y cada día que pasa es un poco más joven. Binky se fue hasta el Polo Sur a buscarle. Fue cuando aterrizó en la tarta de cumpleaños del profesor de inglés ese al que siempre le chafan las vacaciones.

It´s not your fault, honey. First class restaurants don´t have prices on menus so guests won´t feel obliged to order inexpensive food. Sometimes they don´t even have them on the host´s menu.

No es tu culpa, hijita. En los restaurantes de primera no ponen los precios en las cartas para que los invitados no se corten al pedir. A veces no los ponen ni en la carta del anfitrión.

There are piles of mattresses between the pea and the princess. But they charge so much for it because the princess says she spends the whole night tossing and turning over it.

Hay pilas de colchones entre el guisante y la princesa. Pero se cobra caro porque la princesa dice que así no puede pegar ojo y se pasa la noche dando vueltas en la cama.

Nonsense! No pea can make me sleepless. Girls, tonight we all sleep on peas. Maybe we can get some of our money back selling them to the owner of this restaurant tomorrow. If we have to frequent this place to keep the darksiders who gather here under control, we are sure to go broke. Oberon, we must advice the fairy people to take all manner of precautions to avoid being kidnapped by humans at all costs. We won´t have any money left to pay ransoms. And you can also tell Binky to send Merlin back to the Arctic and to forget about his school.

¡Tonterías! No hay guisante que me quite el sueño. Niñas, esta noche dormimos todas encima de guisantes. A ver si recuperamos algo de dinero vendiéndoselos al dueño de este restaurante. Como tengamos que venir a menudo a tener controlados a los del lado oscuro que se reúnen aquí nos vamos a quedar en la ruina. Oberón, habrá que advertir al pueblo de las hadas que tomen grandes precauciones para no dejarse secuestrar por humanos. No nos va a quedar dinero para pagar rescates. Y ya le puedes ir diciendo a Binky que devuelva a Merlín al Ártico y se vaya olvidando de su escuela.

What a bummer! I can´t tell Binky that. He´s so dead set on having his school he might suffer a nervous breakdown if I do.

¡Menudo revés! No puedo decirle eso a Binky. Con la ilusión que le hace, como le diga que se ha quedado sin escuela le da un patatús.
