Explosion / Explosión

The Shyboys have picked up many a hitchhiker determined to participate in their quarrel. Those that do not plough the earth and live only of what it gives them spontaneously can react like beasts when they believe someone has taken unlawful possession of it. Today they bear the only material arms they own, which are tiny splinters. The malcontents have reached the always amiably open doors of the Prime and Only Ministry of Fairyland. Now it is up to Tyrone Shyboy to park before them, stepping on the brakes of his tacky car. He is already doing this, but the brakes are failing him and...collision with the lamp that once belonged to Aladdin = explosion in the Prime and Only Ministry.  

Los Apocado han recogido por el camino a multitud de autoestopistas con ganas de sumarse a su querella. Los que no labran la tierra y viven sólo de lo que ésta les da espontáneamente pueden comportarse como fieras ante lo que perciben como una apropiación indebida de la misma. Hoy portan las únicas armas materiales de las que disponen, diminutas astillas. Los descontentos han llegado a las siempre amablemente abiertas  puertas del Primer y Único Ministerio del Reino de las Hadas. Ahora sólo falta que Tyrone Shyboy aparque ante ellas pisando el freno de su cutre coche. Ya lo está haciendo. Pero el freno le falla, y… torta con la lámpara que fue de Aladino = explosión en el Primer y Único Ministerio.

You´ve heard the graffiti artist. Poor Batish Afsoon isn’t responsible for this. Please don´t issue a warrant for his arrest.

Ya habéis oído al grafitero.  El pobre Batish Afsún no es el responsable de esto. Por favor, no deis orden de búsqueda y captura.

Tyrone

Don´t even bother, lady. Nobody ever takes me seriously. I´ve been telling my uncle for years  I needed a new car because this one no longer had brakes. But to no avail.

Ni se moleste, señora. A mí nunca me toma en serio nadie. Llevo años diciéndole a mi tío que necesito un coche nuevo, que éste  ya no tiene frenos. Pero ni caso.

Titania

Oberon, I think you should do something. This ministry was your idea.

Oberón, creo que te toca hacer algo. Este ministerio fue idea tuya.

Oberon

Ok. Let´s see. We´ll make a list of all the casualties and damages. Splinters stuck all over the place. A burnt car and a lamp that looks more like an accordion. And poor Binky´s head stuck in a can of oil that I imagine was for the lamp. 

 

Vale. Vamos a ver. Haremos una lista de bajas y daños. Astillas clavadas por todas partes. Un coche quemado y una lámpara que se parece más a un acordeón. Y la cabeza del pobre Binky atascada en una lata de aceite que imagino sería para la lámpara. 

Tyrone

No! That is my uncle’s heal-it-all ointment. By the way, Uncle Lonefellow has died of a heart attack. You can add that to the list of casualties and damages. But first I think somebody should remove the can from the head of that poor fellow there, although I am sure he is sleeping through all this and has no idea what is happening here.

¡Qué va! Ese es el aceite curalotodo de mi tío Solitario, que por cierto, se ha muerto de un infarto. Puede usted añadir eso a la lista de bajas y daños. Pero antes creo que alguien debería sacarle la cabeza de la lata a ese pobre señor de allí, aunque seguro que está totalmente roque y no se está enterando de nada de lo que está pasando.

Oberon

Gosh! He can´t be dead. He´s not mortal. What do you think, Titania?

¡Jolín! No puede estar muerto. No es mortal. ¿Tú qué dices, Titania?

Tyrone

He´s only fast asleep. The oil my uncle created is more effective than anesthesia. It will be a while before he wakes. I don´t know how long. That depends on a lot of circumstances.

Sólo está sopa. El aceite que creó mi tío duerme más que la anestesia. Pasará un tiempo antes de que reaccione. No sé cuánto. Eso depende de muchos factores.

Oberón

And all this has happened because we expropriated your house illegally? Well, Binky was really enthusiastic about building his school on your lot. Pity. I suppose that won´t be possible and we´ll have to return the property to you.

¿Y todo esto ha ocurrido porque nos apropiamos indebidamente de tu casa? Pues a Binky le hacía mucha ilusión construir su escuela en ese solar. Lástima. Supongo que no podrá ser y que tendremos que devolverte la propiedad.

Tyrone

No! It´s perfectly possible. We can reach an agreement this very minute if you like. Now I am the owner and I grant you the property in exchange for a new car for me and another for my wife, so long as you let us live in the basement of whatever you build there. I promise to act as watchman whenever I don´t feel like spending the night out. Look, I have my offer in writing here in this contract my wife prepared in case my opinion got a chance to count. If you sign on the dotted line, you´ll be able to build the school. Am I being reasonable?

¡Qué va! Sí que puede ser. Podemos llegar a un arreglo ya mismo si usted quiere. Ahora el propietario soy yo y yo le cedo la propiedad a cambio de un coche nuevo para mí y otro para mi mujer con tal de que nos deje vivir en el sótano de la escuela que construya. Prometo ejercer de vigilante por las noches siempre que no tenga ganas de salir.  Mire, si  llevo mi propuesta escrita aquí en este contrato que ha preparado mi mujer por si acaso me tocaba opinar. Si firma sobre esta raya, podrá construir su escuela. ¿Le parece razonable?

Oberón

Reasonable? I think you are being generous. Hand me that, I´ll sign it before you change your mind. If we do get to build the school, I will see to it personally that the library or some other facility is named after you. I can´t name the whole thing after you because we promised another donor, a filthy rich little baby, that honor. There. That´s done. Everything solved and everybody happy. Let´s leave, Titania, we have a lot to do elsewhere.  

¿Razonable? Me parece generoso. Trae para acá, que firme eso antes de que cámbies de idea. Si llegamos a construir la escuela, me ocuparé personalmente de que lleve tu nombre la biblioteca o alguna otra dependencia de la misma. No puedo ponerle tu nombre a la escuela entera porque eso se lo hemos prometido a un bebé asquerosamente rico. Bien. Pues esto está solucionado, y hasta a gusto de todos. Vámonos de aquí, que tenemos otras cosas que hacer.

What do you mean we´re done here? This place is a mess.  Who is going to clean this place up?

¿Cómo que solucionado? Este sitio está hecho un asco. ¿Quién va a sanear todo esto?

Oberón

Listen, I already handled the real estate problem. You tell your people to do the cleaning up.

Oye, yo ya me he ocupado de lo del terreno. Tú dile a tu gente que se haga cargo de la limpieza.

Titania

Certainly not! This will remain as it is if you don´t clean up.

Ni hablar. Esto se queda así si tú no lo limpias.

Oberón

Well, so it will. Binky will restore it to its former splendor when he comes to.

Pues así se queda.  Ya lo devolverá a su antiguo esplendor Binky cuando vuelva en si.

Tyrone

If you like, I can remove part of the junk. I´ll take the remains of my car and the dented lamp home with me if you give me my car now.

Yo, si ustedes quieren, retiro parte de la chatarra. Me llevo a casa los restos de mi coche y la lámpara abollada esa ahora mismo si me entregan mi coche ya.

Oberón

Great. Wonderful. Puck, give this nice kid one of my new limousines. Is it ok with you if the car is a limousine, son? Ah! And another one for his wife, yes, of course. Will she like it white? Puck, you drive the white one to the lad´s house. Follow him there, eh? Hey, and check the brakes of both cars before you give them to him. ´Bye, lad. A pleasure doing business with you. C´mon, Titania, we´re  off. And let the grass and the brush grow and surround and cover this place until it can be put to use again.

¡Estupendo! ¡Fenomenal! Puck, dale una de mis limusinas nuevas a este simpático chico. ¿Te parece bien que el coche sea una limusina, hijo? ¡Ah! Y otra para tu mujer, claro que sí. ¿Le gustará blanca a ella? Puck, la blanca la conduces tú hasta la casa del chico. Le vas siguiendo, ¿eh? Oye, revisa los frenos antes de entregárselas.  Adiós, chacho. Un placer hacer negocios contigo. Bueno, Titania, nos vamos. Y que la maleza crezca y rodee y tape este lugar hasta que llegue la hora en que pueda volver a funcionar.

Thistle / Cardo

The mortal took his uncle with him in the trunk of his new car. Do you think it is right to leave Mr. Binky here? Some kind soul might find him and think he is a mummy and bury him alive.

El mortal se ha llevado a su tío en el maletero. ¿Está bien dejar al Sr. Binky aquí? Puede que algún alma caritativa le encuentre y se piense que es una momia y lo entierre vivo.  

Heather / Brezo

Let´s take him to his house in Apple Island. There he will at least be among people who know him when he wakes. The Leafies say this liquid can provoke amnesia and other mental disorders.

Ayúdame a llevarlo a su casa en Isla Manzana.  Al menos allí estará entre conocidos cuando despierte, que los Hojita dicen que ese liquido puede producir amnesia y otros trastornos mentales.

And Heather and Thistle took Prime Minister Binky to Apple Island by barge, like the wounded Once and Future King had been taken there before him.

Y Brezo y Cardo transportaron al Primer Ministro Binky en barca a Isla Manzana, como otrora viajó el herido rey que fue y será.
