Nauta´s Mini Mythology - Titans, Ages, Flood / Mini mitología de Nauta - Titanes, Edades, Diluvio

Nauta

After the Protogonoi came the Titans. They were huge and many in number and ruled the world for many years. I will tell you stories about the Titans another time. Today, I will only mention two of them, Iapetus and Clymene, who were the parents of the human race.

Humans lived through four ages. First came the Golden Age. People were very good. They lived on asphodels and there was no violence. Next came the Silver Age. Men began to fish and they were no longer as good as they used to be. Then came the Age of Bronze. Humans used metals to make swords and spears and hunted for meat. And finally came the evil Iron Age, when fraud, avarice and force ruled the day.

A flood was sent to wipe out the evil race of men of the Iron Age. The good Decaulion and Pyrrha alone survived. They were told to cast stones behind them as they walked and the stones Decaulion threw became men, and those Pyrrha threw became women. But because these new men and women came from stones, they were a little hard and stoney. That´s why humans are a little stubborn and not always as kindhearted as they should be.

As for the Titans, they were challenged by their own children, a younger race of gods known as the Olympians, because they lived at the top of Mount Olympus in Greece. Although it seemed impossible, the Titans lost this war. I will tell you the details another time, when I speak of Zeus, the king of the Olympians, a god badly in need of a psychoanalyst.

These are the morning greetings
that King David used to sing
to people on their birthdays!
It is for you that we sing!

The day that you were born
All the flowers burst into bloom,
The nightingales sang sweetly
And the cannons went boom!

The Quails (Las Codornices)

Very early on this morning
The quails began to sing
And their songs bid this day
Every happiness to bring.

Identitykit photos - Retratos robot

Michael

I´ve asked about and some people have given me identitykit photos of Nuño Paez. Could one of these pictures be of the man we are looking for, Goody Estrella?

Goody Estrella

Let me see.

Déjame ver.

Michael

A lad named Richard did this one.

Un chico llamado Ricardo hizo este.

Goody Estrella

That could be Nuño. But the lad must have seen him before his legs were cut off. It sure looks a lot like him though.

Michael

What about this one?
¿Y este?

Goody Estrella

Hmm. When they saw this person he or she was wearing armour and was ready for battle. Or participating in a tournament or joust. That could be Nuño. But then again, it could be anyone. You must ask Larry and Raoul if they saw his face when he took off his helmet. He´s got a fine horse though.

Hmm.

Michael

And this one... Why, this is my Uncle Ernest!

Y este... ¡Pero si es mi tío Ernesto!

Doña Estrella

He´s got a fine horse too.

También tiene un buen caballo.

Michael

My Uncle Ernest, the Dullahan, always has grand horses. Thank you for the identitykit portrait, Sophie. I´ll give it to my Aunt Aislene. She´ll love it, and will surely hang it in her parlour. Hey! What are you two doing here?

¡Eh! ¿Qué haceis vosotros aquí?

The Day after the Epiphany / El día despues de Reyes.

Alpin

With one hand I ate and with the other I gave out sugar coal. And if you get to cut the cake and are first to choose a piece, you can get the biggest share.

The Magi

While Alpin saw to the bad kids, we were able to tend to the good kids.

We were able to motivate the changeling. But what a night he gave us! And there are those who don´t understand why we have to rest for a year!

The Magi / Los Magos

The Magi

We´re here. If you are there.

Estamos aquí. Si tú estás ahí.

Alpin

Gimme all your sugar coal! Now! I said all!

¡Dadme todo el carbón de azúcar! ¡Ahora! ¡He dicho todo!

The Magi

If you want coal, you have to help us give it out. Unfortunately, there are worse kids than you.

Si quieres carbón, tienes que ayudarnos a repartirlo. Desgraciadamente, hay peores niños que tu.

Alpin

Are you daring me?

¿Me estáis retando?

The Magi

No, we´re offering you a job opportunity.

No, te estamos ofreciendo un empleo.

Alpin

How can I eat that?

¿Y eso cómo se come?

The Magi

Working.

Trabajando.

We need help! Where is your cousin Finbar?

Necesitamos ayuda. ¿Donde está tu primo Finbar?

Alpin

He must be working on my cousin Lira´s present.

The Magi

He´s still working on that? You´ll have to help us then.

¿Todavía está trabajando en eso? Tendrás que ayudarnos tú entonces.

Alpin

That´s what you think.

Vais listos.

The Magi

Now is when we have to prove we´re magi.
