How awful, Lira! They've been buried right in front of my workshop since February. And I had no idea. And they didn't even have coats on because they thought they would only be here for a half hour or so and it's burning hot in my workshop. People always say it's like being in a furnace in here. I always feel cold, though, like a lizard.  

¡Qué horror, Lira! Han estado enterrados justo en frente de mi taller desde febrero. Y yo sin tener ni idea. Y ni siquiera trajeron sus abrigos porque pensaron que no iban a estar aquí más de media hora y hace mucho calor en mi taller. La gente dice que esto es como un horno. Sin embargo, yo siempre tengo frio, como un lagarto.

So we have hibernated on a bed of ice under blankets of snow for months without being missed by anyone, which is very, very sad. I don't blame you, of course, because we didn't tell you we were coming. But if I didn’t know how absentminded my husband is, I would divorce him. And now more than ever you should understand why I am asking for what I’m asking for, sweet Finbar, darling nephew of mine.

Así que hemos hibernado en un lecho de hielo bajo mantas de nieve durante meses sin que nadie nos echase de menos, lo que es muy, muy triste. Por supuesto que a tí no te culpo de nada, ya que no avisamos que ibamos a venir. Pero si no supiese que mi marido es muy despistado, pediría el divorcio. Y ahora más que nunca comprenderás por qué te pido lo que te pido, dulce Finbar, mi sobrino predilecto.

Don’t go too far telling my husband how much you appreciate him because it makes me very nervous to hear that within the same speech in which you threaten to divorce Uncle Ernest. By the way, it’s not true no one noticed you were missing. My fortunetellers saw you stuck in the snow in their crystal balls and I was going to arrange for you to be rescued but they said they would take care of that. How come they didn’t?

No te pases diciéndole a mi marido lo mucho que le aprecias que me pone muy nerviosa oír eso dentro del mismo discurso en el que amenazas con divorciarte de Tito Ernesto. Por cierto, no es verdad que nadie se haya dado cuenta de que faltabais. Mis videntes os vieron atascados en la nieve en sus bolas de cristal y yo iba a encargarme de organizar vuestro rescate pero ellos dijeron que se harían cargo de eso. ¿Por qué no lo habrán hecho?

I should have guessed that! You’re wasting time and money. Need I say you know very well I am only interested in you and my job?

¡Debí imaginármelo! Malgastas tiempo y dinero. ¿Tengo que recordarte que sabes perfectamente que a mí sólo me interesáis tú y mi trabajo?

So I am told. But…you know what? All these dolls in this workshop are beginning to get on my nerves. I hate April and May because they’re the months you manufacture dolls.

Eso me dicen. Pero… ¿sabes qué? Todas estas muñecas que hay aquí en este taller me están empezando a mosquear. Odio abril y mayo porque son los meses en que fabricas muñecas.

Oh, for Og’s sake, let’s change the subject! Ok, let’s see. What should the nanny be like?

Erh, what I want for Alpin is a...a...a bodyguardess. Not a nanny. She must be like one of Charlie’s Angels, or like Uma in Kill Bill.

Eh, lo que quiero para Alpin es una...una...una guardaespaldesa. No una nanny. Debe ser como uno de los Ángeles de Charlie, o como Uma en Kill Bill.

Ah. I see. Can do. No problem at all! All I have to do is adapt one of the Barbies. And breathe life into her, of course. One female bodyguard coming up. As I speak, I create! Aberah KeDabar!

Ah. Ya veo. Eso está hecho. Todo lo que tengo que hacer es adaptar una de las Barbies. Y darle el aliento de la vida, naturalmente. Un guardaespaldas femenino en marcha. ¡Conforme hablo, creo! ¡Aberah KeDabar!
