Mortal TV / Tele Mortal

Alpin

Miz Spiridoola, can we watch your TV? I love the mortals´ TV.

Señorita Espiridula, ¿podemos ver su tele? Me encanta la tele de los mortales.

Spiridoola

¿You want to watch Mortal TV? Feel free to do so.

¿Quieres ver Tele Mortal? Sientete libre de hacerlo.

Heather

Has your husband, Mr. Donald, said anything sensible lately?

Spiridoola

I haven´t heard his voice since autumn.

Mortal TV

War between two tigresses! B****! S***!

¡Guerra entre dos tigresas! ¡Z****! ¡B******!

Alpin

Thistle, why don´t you and Heather ever fight like that? You´re so boring!

¡Sois tan aburridas!

Thistle

Alpin, change the channel!

¡Alpin, cambia de canal!

Alpin

What for? There are people spoiling for a fight on all the channels.

Arley

Are they saying anything about the rates of pollen?

¿Están informando sobre los niveles de polen?

Heather

Maybe. Alpin, find a news program.

Puede. Alpin, busca un telediario.

Mortal TV

And here, in this very trash can, this man has found food for four families. Aren´t you afraid of crawling into that trash can? No, he isn´t. He says he´s wearing gloves and the food is all wrapped up in plastic. It´s from a supermarket that has to get rid of it because it will expire the day after tomorrow.

Alpin

Wow! Free food!

¡Guay! ¡Comida gratis!

Mortal TV

And aside from checking out your local trash cans, you can rent your houses to ad and film makers.

Alpin

Arley! You can rent the car you sleep in!

Arley!

Arley

Why would I want to do that?

Titania

Look here, children. A bunch of humans are trying to convince all the rest that there isn´t enough money to go round. If they do, they won´t have to let hardly anyone eat cake ever again. But that sort of thing has nothing to do with us, because in our kingdom we see to it that every child is born owning a house made of granite stone and practically everything he or she needs. And if they´re ambitious and hardworking, they can build their own granite stone castle or palace when they grow up. Why do you let the kids see Mortal TV, Spirididoola? They won´t sleep later. No wonder Arley has nightmares.

Luego no duermen.

Spiridoola

Bah! Everybody knows humans aren´t to be taken seriously. Tomorrow they´ll have a nice man on TV giving things away. That´s giving a good example and the best way to solve all problems, or isn´t it? No?

¡Bah! ¿O no? ¿No?

Glorvina

Spiridoola, the kids are going to end up despising humans and they´re too young to do that properly. I mean, not all humans are stupid. Well, not entirely. And not all are bad. They are many and -

Spiridoola

Oh, shut up! You sound just like Mungo Binky. By the way, where is Binky? He hasn´t pestered anyone with his forms in months.

Glorvina

The last time I saw him he was saying that if he couldn´t force the fairy people to go to school he would found a very exclusive academy the king himself would enrol in. It would be so refined and elitist that everybody would fight with tooth and nail to get in.

Heather

The last time we saw Mr. Binky he tried to persuade our dad to give a good example and enrol in a fabulous school he said he was founding to help us understand humanity.

Arley

Daddy said there was no way he would enrol, but that he might let Mr. Binky have some of his younger children for pupils. Those that were too young to know how to fight for their freedom. He said that´s how mortals are educated anyway.

Thistle

Mr. Binky told us that if we went to his school we would learn from the cleverest headmaster ever. He wasn´t sure who that was, but whoever it was, Mr. Binky would hire him for us.

Titania

And where did you last see Mr. Binky? It´s not like him to refrain from pestering. Something must have happened to the poor man. Honestly, I´m worried. Glorvina, do you think he´s fallen
into one of those holes the moles dig?

Glorvina

No. I had tea with the moles yesterday afternoon. They said he was last seen at...
