It´s obvious that what we don´t do doesn´t get done. Binky in the middle of a swamp, Oberon in the middle of a football game, Titania getting her beauty sleep... I think I have a right to grumble a bit. Grumble, grumble, grumble.

Es evidente que lo que no hagamos nosotros se queda sin hacer. Binky en medio de un pantano, Oberón en medio de un partido de fútbol y la Titania durmiendo para estar guapa...Creo que tengo derecho a refunfuñar un poco. Refunfuñar, refunfuñar, refunfuñar.

Venga, Puck, hagamos esto de una vez. ¿Es al Pantano Tenebroso al que nos dirigimos?

With four kids. Why did he ask me to take them? Does he want to get rid of them definitely? Alright, everybody. We´re going on a joy trip to Swamp Eerie. It´s real name is the Swamp of Power, and by telling you that, I´ve just taught you some geography. We don´t want to get lost, so we all get tied to this one rope. Round the waist. Not the neck, that´s not convenient. With really tough knots. Anyone knows how to do sailors´ knots? No? As usual, I´ll have to do everything myself. There we are. Off we go.

Su verdadero nombre es el Pantano del Poder, y al deciros eso os acabo de enseñar geografía. No queremos perdernos, así que todos nos vamos a atar a la misma cuerda. Alrededor de la cintura. No, del cuello no, que no conviene. Con nudos realmente fuertes. ¿Alguno sabe hacer nudos de marinero? ¿No? Lo dicho, que lo tengo que hacer todo yo. Ya estamos listos. En marcha.

You haven´t gone blind. It´s just dark here. And it´s better not to see a thing because the only lights are will-o-the-wisps, and they´re here to tease people. Any minute now I´m going to plunge into a pit of quicksand and drag you all after me. Don´t be scared. We aren´t mortal. It´s kind of like swimming in those pits full of coloured balls you kids love, except the sand gets into your ears and nose. Keep your mouths shut. But before you do, you may say a few last words, in case there´s anything worth hearing under the sun. Does anyone have anything to say?

No te has vuelto ciega. Es que está oscuro aquí. Y es mejor no ver nada porque las únicas luces son fuegos de San Telmo y están aquí para vacilar a la gente. En cualquier minuto voy a saltar a un pozo de arena movediza y os arrastraré a todos conmigo. No tengáis miedo. No somos mortales. Será como nadar en una de esas piscinas de bolitas de colores que os encantan a los críos sólo que la arena se os meterá en la nariz y las orejas. Mantened la boca cerrada. Pero antes de hacerlo, podéis decir unas últimas palabras por si hay algo que merezca ser escuchado bajo el sol. ¿Alguno tiene algo que decir?

Is there anything to eat? I´m hungry.

¿Hay algo de comer? Tengo hambre.

Puck

This is not a picnic. No, there´s nothing to eat except the sand. And if you swallow that you´ll be throwing it up all of next week. So shut your little mouths and keep them shut till we manage to break into Binky´s bunker.

Esto no es un merienda campestre. No, no hay nada que comer excepto la arena. Y si te la tragas estarás devolviéndola toda la semana que viene. Así que cerrad las boquitas y mantenedlas cerradas hasta que irrumpamos en el bunker de Binky.

Alpin

What good is going on an expedition if there´s no food? Only potential cannibals would do that! This expedition stinks!

¿De qué sirve ir de expedición si no hay comida? Sólo caníbales en potencia harían eso. Esta excursión apesta.

Puck

You can sue Mr. Binky when we find him and he´ll have to reward you for rescuing him with a million sweets. Think of Mr. Binky as a treasure we have to hunt for.

Puedes demandar al Sr. Binky cuando le encontremos y te tendrá que premiar por haberle rescatado con un millón de chuches. Piensa en el Sr. Binky como en un tesoro que tenemos que encontrar.

Alright. When we´ve reached the only opening that leads into Binky´s bunker, which is a kind of submarine, this is what we´ll do. The opening is in a first horizontal and then vertical tube with a staircase in it. We have to rush in as fast as we can and shut the hatch before the sand gets in too and clogs the tube.

Bien. Cuando hayamos alcanzado la única apertura por la que se puede entrar al bunker de Binky, que es una especie de submarino, esto es lo que haremos: la entrada está en un tubo primero horizontal y luego vertical con una escalera dentro. Tenemos que entrar tan rápidamente como podamos y cerrar la escotilla antes de que la arena entre también y atasque el tubo.

Once we´re in and the hatch is closed, we´ll climb up the stairs and open a secret door and then, hopefully, we´ll find Binky at his work and drag him away from it so he can celebrate Labor Day along with the rest of us. Ready? Get set! Plunge!

Una vez que estemos dentro y que la escotilla esté cerrada, subiremos por las escaleras y abriremos un puerta secreta y entonces, con suerte, encontraremos a Binky currando y le arrastraremos de ahí para que pueda celebrar el día del trabajo con el resto de nosotros. ¿Listos?
A la de una, a la de dos, a la de tres! ¡Salto!

Wipe the sand off your eyes any way you can but don´t open them all at once. There´s light inside the bunker and it might hurt your eyes at first.

Quitáos la arena de los ojos como podáis pero no los abráis de golpe. Hay luz dentro del bunker y puede que os duelan los ojos al principio.

Arley

Wow! There´s tons of paper! But where is Mr. Binky? Is that blood?

¡Guau! Hay toneladas de papel. ¿Pero dónde está el Sr. Binky? ¿Eso es sangre?

Alpin

A finger! No, a thumb! Somebody´s chopped Mr. Binky into pieces!

¡Un dedo! ¡No, un pulgar! ¡Alguien ha descuartizado al Sr. Binky!

Puck

Nonsense. At worst, the silverfish may have eaten him up.

Sandeces. Lo peor que le puede haber pasado es que se lo hayan comido los lepismas.

Hey! We´re not carnivores! All we eat is sugar! We eat paper because it has glucose.

I´m fine, I´m fine. That´s red ink. I was just showing my thumb to prove everything was going right. Did you think I was a goner?

I thought you were giving us the finger. Well, I suppose I have to say it´s good to see you are well.

Quit giving him ideas! Look here, Binky, we´ve come all the way here to see if you were alright so the least you can do is show your face and come celebrate Labor Day with everybody else or no one will know if you are alive or dead.

Deja de darle ideas. Escucha, Binky, hemos venido hasta aquí para ver si estabas bien, así que lo menos que puedes hacer es exhibir el careto y venir a celebrar el Día del Trabajo con todos los demás, o nadie sabrá si estás vivo o muerto.

Mr. Binky, I´ll make a deal with you. I´ll be the first to go to your school if you promise to visit Lukinotakis and get yourself a new look and come to Trimalchion´s May Eve party tomorrow night. You don´t know it, but you really need a holiday.

Sr. Binky, haré un trato con usted. Seré la primera en asistir a su escuela si me promete visitar a Lukinotakis y conseguir una nueva imagen y asistir a la fiesta de la víspera de mayo de Trimalquión mañana por la noche. Usted no se da cuenta pero realmente necesita un día de asueto.

Are you nuts? Why did you promise to go to Binky´s school? We could have gotten him out of here with a threat. We could have told Alpin to start eating the papers. The lepisma said they were sweet.

¿Estás loca? ¿Por qué has prometido ir a la escuela de Binky? Podíamos haberle sacado de aquí con una amenaza. Podíamos haberle dicho a Alpin que empezase a zamparse los papeles. El lepisma dijo que eran dulces.

I´ve already tried a few. They may have glucose but they´re tough to chew.
