Sancho, do you remember why I began to study English? I know I wanted to read all about King Arthur in English. But there was another reason. I´m almost sure there was.

Sancho, te acuerdas de por qué empecé a estudiar inglés? Sé que quería leer sobre el rey Arturo en inglés. Pero había otra razón. Estoy casi seguro de que la había.

Sancho

Erh...no. I don´t remember any other reason.
Eh...no. No recuerdo ninguna otra razón.

What´s that on your arm? Is it a tattoo? Only people who are in jail or who will end up there have got tattoos.

¿Qué es eso que tienes en el brazo? ¿Es un tatuaje? Sólo la gente que está en la cárcel o que va a terminar allí lleva tatuajes.

Sancho

It´s not a tattoo. It´s so I´ll remember the order in which I have to use adjectives in English.

No es un tatuaje. Es para recordar el orden en el que tengo que usar los adjetivos en inglés.

It looks like an address on the web, doesn´t it? But in truth it is: o for opinion, s for size, a for age, s for shape, c for colour, o for origin, and m for materials.

Parece una dirección de la red, ¿a qué sí? Pero en realidad es: o de opinión, s de tamaño en inglés, a de edad en inglés, s de forma en inglés, c de color, o de origen y m de materiales.
For example: the beautiful, little, old, round, blue, English, porcelain vase.

Por ejemplo: el hermoso, pequeño, viejo, redondo, azul, inglés, de porcelana florero. Claro que en español suena fatal, pero ese es el orden de los adjetivos en inglés y hay que seguirlo.

Maybe I should tatoo things on my arms too. I used to have a prodigious memory. But now, I often feel befuddled. I´m afraid that if I tattoo osas.com on my arm I might not remember what the letters stand for.

Tal vez yo debería escribir cosas en mis brazos también. Solía tener una memoria prodigiosa. Pero ahora me falla a menudo. Me temo que si me tatúo osas.com en el brazo luego no recordaré que representan las siglas.

Why don´t you just tattoo two or three she-bears on your arms? It´s not true that everyone who has a tattoo is or will be in jail. Lots of humas are having themselves tattooed. It´s fashionable. If you like, I can do a tattoo on you both. I know how. I watch a show about tattooing on Mortal TV. And I´ve got coloured felt-tip pens. But you´ve got to invite me to bread and honey. Thinking about she-bears made me hungry for honey.

¿Por qué no os tatuáis dos o tres osas en los brazos? No es verdad que los que tienen tatuajes o están o van a estar pronto en la cárcel. Montones de humanos se están tatuando. Es la moda. Si queréis, puedo tatuaros a los dos. Sé como. Veo un programa sobre tatuajes en Tele Mortal. Y tengo rotuladores de colores. Pero tendréis que invitarme a pan con miel. Pensar en osas me ha dado hambre de miel.

Every rule has exceptions. They are the big bad wolf of learning. As you can see, bad should come before big, but it doesn´t, at least not in the song from the Disney film. You needn´t be afraid of exceptions if you are hardworking like the third little pig.

Toda regla tiene excepciones. Son como el lobo feroz, que en inglés es el gran mal lobo. Si te fijas, malo tendría que venir antes que grande, pero no se dice así, al menos en la canción de la película de Disney. No tienes porque temer a las excepciones si eres trabajador como el tercer cerdito.
