Education, we were told, was the theme of Gay Pride Day this year. We asked our proofreader, who was going to attend the parade on July 4 with Amnesty International, if we could tag along. We did, and we are more than ever convinced that education on this subject is absolutely necessary, because if you don´t know who you really are, you can´t truly respect others or even yourself. Ignorance has never helped anybody be a better person.
La educación, nos dijeron, era el tema sobre el que iba a versar el Día del Orgullo Gay este año. Preguntamos a nuestro lector de pruebas si podíamos asistir a la parada del cuatro de julio junto a un grupo de Amnistía Internacional. Lo hicimos y estamos más convencidos que nunca de que es necesario educar respecto a este tema, porque si no sabes quién eres realmente, ni puedes realmente respetar a los demás ni puedes respetarte a ti mismo. La ignorancia nunca ha ayudado a nadie a ser mejor persona.
